The Cozy Kitties is my professional cat sitting service which I run through Meowtel. I wanted to create a personal branding project for my own small business. The Cozy Kitties needed a logotype and a logo that could be used together or separately.
The research phase helped me understand that I wanted to create a brand identity that felt inviting, trustworthy, friendly, and local. It showed that in-home cat sitting is not a well-known service, and that I needed to include clear positioning information in any marketing pieces.

From the brand research, I knew that an illustration of a cat would be a great fit. I created some physical sketches, and imported them into Illustrator, and this is where things started to come together.

The character's personality helped me find the right fonts and color palettes. Now it was time to put everything together. I used Adobe Illustrator to create the graphics, and the brought them over into Adobe InDesign to lay out the print pieces.
I wanted a postcard-sized flyer with information on how to book rather than a business card. I created a horizontal version of the logotype to fit the format of the flyer. The flyer was a challenge, as needed it to be both eye-catching and information-dense. In the future, I would try to pare down some of the information, to give the flyer a bit more breathing room.

I also created a simple social media graphic that can easily be reshared on many platforms to make marketing a breeze. I imported my Illustrator designs into Canva.com to create this graphic.

Lastly, I wanted to generate some ideas on how the logo could be used in the future by adding the design to some merchandise. I brought my Illustrator graphics into Photoshop, and used graphicheroco's free t-shirt mockup file to create this.

Overall, I was happy to be able to create a simple and cohesive branding package for The Cozy Kitties. It was eye-opening to put myself into the shoes of a client, and work through the full design process from both sides.
The print pieces were very well-received by clients. Creating a flyer so dense with information was a challenge that I enjoyed meeting.
Even if there are some changes I would make now to create even more cohesion and give the branding some breathing room, I'm thrilled to have worked through this process to create branding I'm excited about, and that speaks to my clients.
